People United Against Tokyo Governor Ishihara’s Homophobic Comments was formed in December 2010, following Governor Ishihara’s series of discriminatory comments. In corporation with LGBT activists and human rights groups, “People United” campaigns to protest against Governor Ishihara and aim to raise public awareness about LGBT rights.
In January, “People United” held a seminar entitled “The Governor’s Comments, What’s Wrong with It?” . The seminar was a great success with more than 350 people attending the event.
